Lorena Multifamily Complex
Lorena Heights Apartments breathes new life into the historic neighborhood of Boyle Heights in Los Angeles, CA. Upper level units have picturesque views of the downtown skyline typically only found in high end properties. The site features two courtyards with picnic tables, bbq’s and playground areas for residents to enjoy.
HISTORICAL CHURCH – The First United Christian Molokan Church, which has been located on the property since 1933, was preserved, relocated, restored and now serves as the community and recreation center.
CONTAMINATED SOIL – In order to prepare the site for construction, 125,000 tons of contaminated soil were removed and a 60ft retaining wall was erected.
MULTI-TIERED DESIGN – Due to the 63 foot elevation change from one end of the project to the other, the site utilized a variety of temporary and permanent shoring systems. Multiple levels of permanent soil nail walls were used, the tallest being 55 feet.
